Crossworks Myanmar Turns 6!

Today marks 6 years since I founded Crossworks as a means to hire remote talent from Myanmar for two of my companies in Singapore. I write this as a continuation of the story from our 5th anniversary which you may read here. Quick update: I’m happy to report that we now directly impact more than 200 employees and employer partners. Our vision and mission remains unchanged, to stop the brain drain of the country’s best and brightest talent by discovering, developing and deploying these outliers and curating a conducive environment and supportive community for them to thrive in.

6th anniversary celebrations at our new office in Yangon

Since our 5th anniversary milestone, we crossed the 100 employees under management in 2023 and strengthened our internal team significantly. We’ve also added a slew of new initiatives such as a career bootcamp which will be starting next month to expand the skill base within the country and ‘train and place’ talent who are almost there and need just a little bit of polishing up over a 6-12 month training initiative. On a personal note, I also embarked on (yet another) pretty crazy expedition to cycle from Singapore to Bangkok in 14 days to raise $70K+ for a free clinic along the Thai-Myanmar border which was seeing a significant increase in their caseload amidst heightened fighting in the border town of Myawaddy earlier this year. I aim to recap several lowlights, highlights + lessons in this newsletter…
